After discussing things further, and in light of recent developments, we have made the decision to cancel in-person gatherings at Benson Baptist Church for the next two weeks.
This means that the following events will not be taking place:
- 8:45am and 11:00am worship services on Sunday March 15 and 22 (we will post sermons online on these days)
- Youth Group on Sunday March 15 and 22
- Wednesday night dinner and programming on March 18 or 25
The called church conferences scheduled for tomorrow to vote on our candidate for Minister to Youth and Children have also been postponed until we gather again for Sunday worship. We appreciate your understanding with this delay.
The church office will remain open as normal during the week but, for the wellness of our staff, we ask that you do not visit if you are sick.
While we know that this is a difficult time, I ask that you continue to pray for those infected, those at risk, and those who have already lost loved ones.
If you, or someone in your family becomes sick, please let the church office know so that we can pray for you and help meet any needs that you may have. We are in this together, even if we are not able to gather in person.
In these times of uncertainty and anxiety, know that you are not alone. We stand together as a community even when we are not able to physically be with one another. We also worship a God that does not abandon us, even in times such as these.
Please check our social media and website at bensonbaptist.org for alternative ways that we will gather virtually in the weeks ahead.
Please know that I am in prayer for you, our community, and our world in these days.
