Naturally, as an English teacher and poet, I like words and memories. While we have all this time, I think it would be great to share memories about people in our church who have been important in our lives. The person may be alive or they may be in Heaven. Write about them to honor them and our church. I will start. (I have MANY.)

I can see Mrs. Laura Lee Johnson as clearly as I see the puppy in my lap. She bounces on that piano bench in what was called the Junior Department. We always began “Opening Exercises” with a medley of children’s songs. I am pretty sure she put these songs together. I only remember certain parts: “It’s bubbling, it’s bubbling, it’s bubbling in my soul since Jesus made me whole”
“I’ve got the love of Jesus love of Jesus down in my heart (Where?) down in my heart”
“Every day with Jesus is greater than the day before. Every day with Jesus I love him more and more. Jesus saves and keeps me and that’s what I’m living for…”

If anyone remembers it all, let’s sing it together one Sunday morning!!

I hate to tell this, but her smile was so large and glorious that, behind her back,
we called her Jack-O-Lantern!

I will never forget her enthusiasm for us children, our church, and the Lord.
