We’re glad you’re here!

Who Are We? What is a Church Anyway?

We recognize that not everyone knows exactly what a church is. We realize that you may have spent most of your life attending, or that maybe you’ve never stepped foot into a space of faith. BBC is, at its core, a community of people living life together.

Since 1887, we have been a faith community that tries our best to be a warm, inviting, loving, and grace-filled group that knows we’re not perfect and have no desire to pretend otherwise. While our community carries many differences, we are united in our love for Christ and our desire to love those around us.

We are composed of people of all age groups (literally less than one year to over 100 years) and we do our best to include everyone in the visioning for what the future looks like.

We love much, we smile a lot, we walk through tough times together, we give space for tough questions, we don’t always agree, BUT we do find ways to continue as the community that we are called to be.

Sunday Mornings

Contemporary Worship Service

Our contemporary service takes place each Sunday in the Fellowship Hall, where we are led in worship by our praise team. Join us at 8:45 AM on Sundays if you’re looking for a more modern style of worship with videos, contemporary music, and a more laid-back atmosphere. We gather in the Fellowship Hall for this service.

Children: The nursery is available for infants-PreK. Children Kindergarten-5th grade are invited to join their parents for worship until the children’s sermon when they’ll head to the Children’s Ministry Center for Children’s Church!

Traditional Worship Service

There’s something sacred about worshipping in the same place and in a similar manner as those who’ve gone before us. At BBC, that’s part of what makes our 11:00 Traditional Service so special.

Join us at 11:00 AM on Sundays if you’re looking for a more ‘traditional’ style of worship with an organ, choir, robes, hymns, and more elements that have been a part of our worship for over a century. We gather in our 1920’s era Sanctuary for this service.

Children: The nursery is available for infants-PreK. Children Kindergarten-5th grade are invited to join their parents for worship until the children’s sermon when they’ll head to the Children’s Ministry Center for Children’s Church!

Sanctuary/Virtual

Are you the parent of an infant?

When you’re ready, our Nursey is available and staffed for your little ones!

If you’re not quite ready yet, we have rocking chairs reserved just for you in the back of our Fellowship Hall (Contemporary service) and our Sanctuary (Traditional service). If you need to slip out at any point, our nursing room for parents of infants is located across from our Nursery and has a changing table, crib, rocking chairs, and a live stream feed of both services. If you just need to change a diaper, there are changing tables located in our Fellowship Hall foyer bathrooms, Nursing parents room, and the bathroom located close to the back of our Sanctuary near the Nursery. Just look for the changing table signs!

If your infant makes noise during worship, don’t worry about it –– they’re just worshipping in their own way!

Elements of Worship

Worship services are a chance to come together to seek the voice of Christ in our lives.

Elements of our service at BBC include:

Chancel Choir

Leads worship at our 11:00 AM service.

Praise Team

Leads worship at our 8:45 AM service.

Sermon

Our pastor connects ancient scripture to modern life through a short time of reflection and teaching.

Drama/Art

Being creative is an expression of our identity of being created in the image of a creative God. Skits, art, and more join music as a way we show our creativity in worship!

Age Group Ministries

BBC Kids

If you’re going to start figuring out what faith means, what better place to start than when you’re most creative and excited? Our BBC Kids is a fun, energetic, and excited community of kids infants-6th grade. From fun events, to faith growth, to trips, we seek to help our kids find a place where they fit and can grow!

BBC Teens

The teenage years are a time of great exploration and question asking –– including in relation to faith. Our Youth group gathers weekly for fun and discussion. Throughout the year they also grow in relationships and faith through retreats, camp, service events, game nights, and so much more.

BBC Adults

From college-aged students to young, middle, and senior adults –– there’s something for everyone at Benson Baptist! We believe that faith exploration and growth does not stop at any age and so there are many ways for you to connect at BBC whether you’re 25 or 105!
